I remind myself and my brothers that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
الْتَمِسُوهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ
“so seek it in the last ten nights “.
This hadith was narrated by al-Bukhari (2018) and Muslim (1167).
It could be any of these nights. But it is more likely that it is odd, but it could also be even, because it is said that the Quran was revealed on the twenty-fourth night of Ramadan. And as you know, Allah (exalted and exalted is He) says:
إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ
Indeed, ˹it is˺ We ˹Who˺ sent this ˹Quran˺ down on the Night of Glory.
Quran, Surah “Predestination”, 97:1.
This means that the night of Qadr can be the twenty-fourth night, like today. But he said:
“Seek in the last ten nights.”
At the same time, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said in another hadith:
في السبع الأواخر
“So if anyone seeks it he should do so during the last seven nights.”
This means that it could be in ten nights, but it is more likely that it is still in the last seven nights. Maybe not seven, but more likely seven. That is, the probability increases, which means that with increasing probability, our desire, our diligence, our diligence should also increase, in shaa Allahu Ta’ala, because Ramadan is coming to an end, and there are fewer and fewer days and nights left for worship.
We ask Allah (exalted and exalted is He) to help us worship Him in the best way and earn His pleasure and forgiveness. Jazakumu Allahu khairan.
